All cultures have a word for such a place and the Blackfeet, Crow, Nez Perce and Shoshone had theirs. Even the un-named wanderers before them who drifted up the Yellowstone must have expressed some sort of awe upon entering Paradise Valley. The wildlife that have for eons migrated down from the plateau each fall find the valley floor and gentle foothills most hospitable. This valley looks good in the subtle patels of spring and the warm hues of summer and fall, but it's hard to beat the sheer elegance of Paradise Dressed in White.
